Someone explain to me why and how stating a fact is slanderous. Someone explain to me how defending that fact in a previous thread to David, is slanderous.
Someone explain to me why offering an apology and confession of motvie in regards to what I said about Steve Ms playing is a bad thing

I certainly don't think what you just stated is a bad thing. Re-read my posts, esp the last one. It's when anyone gets personal - no naming names, just everyone & anyone in general.

& BION, I agreed with his initial idea regarding such-&-such drumr's playg approach [we all know who]...just some of the way it was handled [personal] didn't agree with me. But, we've already gone way past that old, tired mile marker.

Everyone has an opin, & we have the right to have it. It may change later, aft we learn, grow, evolve, get more experience, are taught more, & know more of the facts.

But getting personal about it, well...

But there comes a point when talking relentlessly about it, & not moving forward, regardless of whether one is right or wrong, becomes as nails on a chalkboard. Esp when most others have chosen to resolve within their own minds & move on.

HAHA! That's one way to stop truth. As funny as I think it is to ban
an opinionated member, I think it was uncalled for. He was just defending himself and stating truths.
But if you the moderators think that's ok, so be it.

Hello,

I have not been a member of this board for very long.
This thread was taking on a very nice direction until David's post.

To make a decent beneficial and intelectual comment in this forum, I feel one has to read all the posts and all threads relating to the posts.
I went back and read the Hass thread where Randy's post reads verbatum "Hass has nothing on Steve Michaud". That was his whole post. Obviously this was planned. Of course saying that in any thread about any drummer, will cause tempers to rise.
Randy then apologized.

David, and Steve, if you had read all the facts, you would realize your posts calling it negativity are very much wrong. Those were not negative comments with a motive. That's a member simply re-stating what occured in an earlier post to explain why he reacted negatively in your post. I read it.

I'm not particularly a fan of SDK either, nor am I sad to see him go. Sadly, in my thread research, I found this to all stem from Randy's original post. So please, I'm no one on this board, and I realize this, but let's not talk down on people's drumming just to get a reaction. The many controversial comments SDK has made that I have read, all had valid explinations and were never out right derogatory towards anyone. Although his wording was not always PC, and I never agreed with all of his points, he covered much ground.

Personally I find Avi's post to be juvenille and meaningless.
Yet I doubt anyone that behaves like that will be banned. Name calling seems to be allowed.
SDK was defending himself to David, and stating truths, and he does get banned. Posts early on in my membership were disappearing in thin air. I'm beginning to see a pattern develop here.
Do I also have to censor myself ? Maybe I should not have asked those probing questions to Peter Erskine in the Big Band thread. Many of you said I was insulting a legend by merely questioning his post. You were all wrong, he apologized for being vague, and all of us received a lesson in return.

Do the rest of you agree with this after reading all the posts and knowing the facts?
I was just beginning to love this place.

Yep. Good thing there "ain't" ;cp...Eh, what'cha gonna do...they're useful tools of the language & net [brackets & faces]...that's why they're there.

However, that pales in comp to calling someone a clown...now, that would not cause any banning at the Pearl forums. [img]wink.gif[/img] Or Bozo's forum [so I've been told; but then, I've never been there].

But having worked for & with several clowns in my day, including one perFESHunnel one [a pro ash-clown], I resemble that remark.

Tempers flare and heads get hot. That's to be expected from time to time: Hopefully not often.
I've read the posts and understand points made or implied on both sides. Not many people even remotely enjoy conflict much less like having the whole subject brought up again when things seemed to simmer down. Sleeping dogs should have been allowed to lie. Bottom line; they weren't. I think that's why things might have went down the way that they did.(I could be totally wrong)

I hate to see anyone get the boot(with the exception of a couple who seemed to return with several aliases) Hopefully the situation will be resolved and all parties involved with learn from it.

This has been an intersting read, I have been out of the country with no posting and yet my name is still used in a derogatory manner on an old issue in which I even made an apology to members of HOD.
So, here's how it's going to be, I've tried to be nice and ignore the posts but no longer wil that be the case. If the few of you whom continue to do so (and you know who you are) slander me in any way and not play like adults and talk about drums, drumming and the drummers whom play them, you will be banned, end of story.
This is not a Call and Response message.
